How Does Coaching Work?

There are four steps to coaching:

I. Creating Awareness

Helping each client to discover for him/herself new thoughts, beliefs, perceptions that strengthen client’s ability to take action and achieve what is important

​

II. Designing Actions

Working with clients to identify opportunities for learning and action that will lead to agreed-upon coaching results

​

III. Planning & Goal Setting

Assisting each client in identifying and establishing development goals that address the client’s concerns/ area(s) for development

​

IV. Managing Progress and Accountability

Keeping the client on track and promoting self-discipline by directing client’s attention to the coaching plan, outcomes, and agreed-upon courses of action
